On March 23, 2005, several explosions and fire occurred during the startup of the isomerization unit at the BP Texas City refinery. Fifteen workers were killed and 170 others were injured when highly flammable gasoline components were released from a raffinate splitter tower. This Video depicts the events leading up to the accident.
